The Silent Mage The Earthquake-Stopper Ogion was known as the mage who tamed the earthquake and saved the Port of Gont. He lived simply in Re Albi, wandering the forests and talking to spiders. He was a master of patience and silence. His Teaching Style Ogion taught Ged by example, not by show. He emphasized the importance of knowing the names of things, and the danger of using power for pride. He was a foil to Ged's impatience.

The Return of the Hawk The Restoration Ogion saw the hawk land on his wrist and recognized Ged. He brought him inside, restored him to human form, and listened to his tale. He gave Ged a new staff and told him to turn around and hunt the shadow. The Wisdom of the Old Master Ogion's advice was crucial: “You must seek what seeks you.” He gave Ged the courage to face his enemy. This was the last time Ged saw Ogion, but his guidance stayed with him.

The Unseen Hand The True Master Ged later acknowledged Ogion as his true master, above all the wizards of Roke. Ogion's teachings about silence, balance, and the true name shaped Ged's ultimate victory. The Final Message Ogion's message on the hearthstone, “I go hunting,” was the last word. He remained in Re Albi, perhaps sensing the outcome, but trusting Ged to complete his journey.
